June in the Northern Hemisphere

As I walk down
the lane to fill
my chest with spring
air and beauty,
everything unabashedly
declares that it wants
to live.

Paragliding
cottonwood seeds descend
while pasture grasses and
white dandelion globes stretch
tall to haggle with the wind.

Outlandish blooms bedeck
bushes and trees and my new dress.
Each deciduous creature
that has outlived another
winter unfurls to soak
in that great light.
